There is a lakeside enclosed porch looking out over the lake. The lot is smaller making maintenance a snap. The cabin itself is fully functional, warm, cozy in its classic way. Houghton Lake is Michigan's largest inland lake by surface area. The lake has been a popular resort and vacation destination for 100 years. The lake is well known for its fishing and large portions of shallow sandy lake bottom. The lake is 2 hours from Lansing or Grand Rapids and less than 3 hours from Detroit. The area is a great central location to explore all of the Northern Lower Peninsula.
